Famous across social media, a French Bulldog is a fashionable choice in companion. But is breeding a dog for aesthetics in the best interest of the animal?
The French Bulldog club in the UK only accepts three colours; Pied, Fawn and Brindle.
Any other colours indicate bad breeding practices. Any dogs the following colours are likely to have genetic deformities that affect the health and temperament of the dog; Blue, Chocolate, Blue Pied, Blue Fawn, Blue Brindle, Black & Tan. and Mearle.
Most of the colours advertised are unrecognised. This indicates that there is lots of detrimental breeding occurring.
